FAR Rabat Fans Attacked by Security at Cairo Stadium

The stands allocated to AS FAR fans witnessed regrettable incidents during their ongoing match against Egyptian club Al Ahly at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the sixth and final round of the CAF Champions League group stage.

The AS FAR supporters were subjected to repeated assaults at a time when the score was a goalless draw at the end of the first half.

Initially, AS FAR supporters were pelted with projectiles by the host team's fans, targeting the stand designated for the Moroccan club's supporters, before the events escalated significantly.

Videos documented by "Al-Botola" showed the intervention of security personnel, some of whom, according to the footage, also directed projectiles towards the AS FAR fans, who attempted to defend themselves against the assault.

The chaos extended to the pitch after AS FAR players were also pelted with bottles by some fans, resulting in player Ahmed Hamoudan sustaining a hand injury, a scene that further heightened the tension during the match.
