Abderrahim on Al Ahly Fan Disturbances: "We Knew It Would Be Like This, But the Most Important Thing Was Achieved"
Al Jaish Al Malaki defender Younes Abdelhamid commented on the unsportsmanlike incidents that occurred during his team's match against Egypt's Al Ahly in the final round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
Abdelhamid stated in press remarks: "We had to give our all, and we knew what was coming. We fought hard in both halves, and it was tough, but we aimed to capitalize on what we had achieved in our previous matches and didn't want to lose everything. The effort paid off, the primary goal was met, and now we must look ahead."
He added: "Regarding the unrest, we had a first-leg match at home and took responsibility. We knew it would be like this, and we stood united with our supporters, giving our all. We thank the fans, as always."
It is worth noting that Al Jaish Al Malaki and Al Ahly of Egypt both qualified for the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, with Al Jaish Al Malaki finishing as runner-up with 9 points and Al Ahly topping Group B with 10 points.
