Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, has expressed his desire for Spotify Camp Nou to host the finals of the 2029 UEFA Champions League and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
In press statements, Laporta said: “I am honored to say that it will be the best stadium in Europe, the largest in terms of capacity, comfortable and safe, and will have commercial appeal, in a city like Barcelona.”
He added: “The Champions League is the most important club competition in the world, and we want its final to be held at Spotify Camp Nou in 2029, as well as the 2030 World Cup final. We will work to make this a reality.”
