Infantino Announces Agreement to Build 30 Mini-Pitches in Morocco
Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), announced the signing of a new agreement that will enable the construction of 30 "FIFA Arena" mini-pitches in the Kingdom of Morocco. This initiative reflects FIFA's commitment to developing football and enhancing access to the sport at the grassroots level.
In a post on his official Instagram account, Infantino expressed his great pleasure with the project, commending the fruitful cooperation with several Moroccan officials. These included Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and a FIFA Council member; Mohamed Saïd Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports; and Mostafa Terrab, Chairman and CEO of OCP Group.
The FIFA President affirmed that this project is part of an initiative aimed at providing safe and sustainable access to football. He noted that its impact would extend beyond the pitches to include supporting local communities and fostering ambition and hope among young people.
Infantino added that these mini-pitches would offer children and youth genuine opportunities for learning and personal and athletic development through football, making this initiative a catalyst for both social and sports development.
This project further strengthens Morocco's prominent position on the international football stage and underscores the growing trust the Kingdom enjoys as a strategic partner for FIFA in developing football.
