RS Berkane announced on Friday the successful surgical operation undergone by international goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi, following an injury he sustained while with the Moroccan national team during the Africa Cup of Nations.

The club clarified in a statement published on its official Facebook account: "Our international goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi underwent shoulder surgery this morning at a clinic in Spain, and it was successfully completed, praise be to God."

The statement added: "RS Berkane wishes a speedy recovery to the guardian of the Orange den and a quick return to the fields."

For his part, Mohamedi posted a message via an Instagram "story" on his official account, writing: "Praise be to God, I will come back stronger."

The Moroccan goalkeeper had suffered a dislocation of his right shoulder during a training session 48 hours before the Africa Cup of Nations final, and his absence from the pitch is expected to last approximately three months.
