El Mohamadi: 'Crucial Champions League Win, Our Ambition is to Go Far'

Mounir El Mohamadi, goalkeeper for RS Berkane, expressed his great happiness following the team's convincing 3-0 victory over Zambian side Power Dynamos in the opening match of the CAF Champions League group stage.

Speaking to the press after the game, El Mohamadi stated: "Praise be to God, I am very happy with this win in our first match in this competition. We are comfortable having played at home, and we look forward to the future and achieving the team's goals, God willing."

He added: "We know that Pyramids FC is a strong and difficult opponent; they are the champions of the previous edition and have an excellent squad. However, as shown in the Super Cup final, we also want to achieve something significant in this tournament."

He continued: "We were well aware that we would face strong teams like Pyramids FC and others, and the team has prepared for this stage. We hope, God willing, to perform better than we did in the Super Cup final, as there are some aspects we need to improve this season."

El Mohamadi concluded by saying: "RS Berkane is capable of achieving something important and special in this edition of the tournament."
