Girona Unveils Echeverri on Loan from Manchester City
Spanish club Girona has officially presented its new player, Claudio Echeverri, known as "El Diablito," who joins the team on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season. The Argentine forward had spent the first half of the season at Bayer Leverkusen, where his performance was described as "inconsistent."
Echeverri expressed his delight at joining Girona, stating: "I am very happy and proud to be in Girona. I thank everyone for their words, especially Míchel, who helps me a lot."
The Argentine player revealed that a conversation with coach Pep Guardiola influenced his decision to move to Girona. He said: "It was great to be with him and listen to him. The time I spent at City helped me a lot, and he advised me to come here, assuring me that the work is good, that I can develop, and that I will find help. I am young and I can develop. That helped me make my decision."
Echeverri, who plays as an attacking midfielder, aims to help Girona achieve victories and advance in the league table. His participation was delayed for 20 days until player Jhon Solís was loaned to Birmingham, which freed up a non-EU player slot.
