Girona Hopes Ounahi Features Against Real Sociedad on December 12 Before AFCON Call-Up

Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi, a Girona player, has been confirmed to miss the upcoming La Liga match against Elche in the 15th round due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

Ounahi's absence from the upcoming La Liga fixture follows him receiving his fifth yellow card against Real Madrid in the previous round. The midfielder is considered an influential player for Girona.

Meanwhile, Girona hopes to retain Ounahi until their match against Real Sociedad on December 12, which is part of the 16th round of the Spanish League.

Girona coach Míchel Sánchez commented on the situation, stating: “We haven't received official notification yet, but I've heard that players participating in the Africa Cup of Nations might remain with their clubs until the end of the week of December 15.”
