Regragui: 'Criticism is Natural as Morocco Coach; I Hope My Successor Achieves More'
Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan national team, addressed the pressures and criticisms that accompany his work at the helm of the Atlas Lions. He made these remarks during a press conference held today, ahead of the anticipated match against the Nigerian national team, emphasizing that he places the national team's interest above all else.
In this regard, Walid Regragui stated: "When you are coach of the Moroccan national team, every result brings criticism. I always do my best for my country, and I can make mistakes sometimes, as every coach makes mistakes in their life."
The national coach added: "I try to stay focused, and that is what's important. What I tell the players is that I can fight the criticism, but the most important thing is on the field, and when they win, they help me a lot."
He continued: "I have only lost 4 times in three and a half years, and I put my country in the semi-finals of the World Cup and the AFCON. In reality, no one should be talking, but in Morocco, it's different, and you have to accept it. I hope the next coach achieves more than I did."
The Moroccan national team is set to face Nigeria tomorrow, Wednesday, starting at 9 PM, at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
