Cameroon's Jean Onana: 'We Are Not Favorites Against Morocco, But Ready to Compete'

Cameroon national team player Jean Onana affirmed that their Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash against hosts Morocco, scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, at 20:00 GMT+1, will be a significant physical and mental test. He emphasized that his team is approaching the match with intense focus, aiming to overcome the challenge posed by the tournament's host nation.

Speaking to the press, Onana stated, “It will be a physical and mental match at the same time. I believe we are physically ready, and mentally too, as we know we are playing against the host country. We will approach the match as we did in previous games; we are ready to face them, and we will give our best, and may the best team win.”

He further added, “Overcoming Morocco will represent a step forward for us. Our goal is clear, which is to win our matches, and we are not thinking beyond tomorrow; all our focus is solely on tomorrow's match.”

When asked about the favorites for the encounter, Onana declared, “No, we are not the favorites; they are the host country and have great players of high quality. However, on the other hand, I believe our group is well-prepared to compete with them, so may the best team win tomorrow.”
