Nigeria Captain Ndidi: 'I Will Pay Bonuses If Authorities Don't Before Algeria Match'
Nigeria captain Wilfred Ndidi confirmed he would personally cover the delayed financial bonuses for his teammates and technical staff if the Nigerian government fails to disburse the agreed-upon payments before Saturday's match against Algeria. This encounter is part of the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025" quarter-finals.
Speaking in a press statement ahead of the Algeria clash, Ndidi said: "I don't want these unpaid bonuses to affect our preparations. I told the players and technical staff that I would pay them personally if they didn't receive them."
He continued: "I urge the team to train and focus on the Algeria match. I have been doing this since our second game in the AFCON."
He concluded by reiterating: "I made a promise to the players and technical staff that I would pay their bonuses if the authorities failed to comply before Saturday (the Algeria match)."
