
Algeria Eliminates DR Congo 1-0, Sets Quarter-Final Clash with Nigeria
The Algerian national team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating their Congolese counterpart 1-0. The match, part of the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16, took place on Tuesday at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat.
The first half of the encounter remained goalless (0-0), with a lack of genuine scoring opportunities from both sides.
After the break, the stalemate continued between the two teams throughout normal time, leading the match into extra time. Algeria finally secured their spot in the quarter-finals with a goal from player Adel Boulbina in the 119th minute of the second period of extra time.
The Algerian national team will now face their Nigerian counterparts in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals on Saturday, with the match scheduled for 17:00 GMT+1.
