Bensghir on Facing Teammate Maza: "Morocco vs. Algeria Match Will Be Amazing, and If We Play Them in AFCON, They're Done"
Moroccan national team player Elias Bensghir discussed his friendly rivalry with his Bayer Leverkusen teammate, Algerian Ibrahim Maza, in an interview with "Afrikick Media." Bensghir stated that he would ensure Maza's team loses if the two national teams were to meet in the knockout stages of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Regarding Maza, Bensghir stated: "We joke a lot about this, and we hope to play against each other, because a match between Morocco and Algeria would be amazing."
He added: "Currently, it's complicated, as we both need to reach advanced stages to face each other. They know what they have to do, and we, as Moroccans, also know what we must accomplish."
When asked about the message he would send to his teammate Maza if Morocco and Algeria were to meet, Bensghir declared with a challenging tone: "If we play against them, it's over for them."
