Senegal Come from Behind to Beat Sudan 3-1, Qualify for AFCON Quarter-Finals

The Senegalese national team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating their Sudanese counterparts 3-1. The match took place today, Saturday, at the Grand Stade de Tanger, as part of the continental tournament's round of 16.

At the start of the first half, the Sudanese team displayed a strong performance in the opening minutes, culminating in an early goal in the sixth minute, scored by Amer Abdullah with a powerful shot.

Senegal pressed for an equalizer, which they achieved in the 29th minute through Papa Gueye. The same player then added his team's second goal in the third minute of first-half stoppage time (45+3').

In the second half, the "Lions of Teranga" maintained their dominance and successfully extended their lead by adding a third goal in the 77th minute, courtesy of Ibrahima Mbaye.

In the quarter-finals, Senegal will face the winner of the match between Mali and Tunisia, scheduled for later today, Saturday, at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, kicking off at 8:00 PM (GMT+1).
