Idrissa Gueye: "Other AFCON Hosts Should Emulate Morocco's Organization"
Idrissa Gana Gueye, the Senegal national team star, has praised Morocco's excellent organization of the Africa Cup of Nations, expressing his hope that future host nations will follow Morocco's example when staging upcoming editions of the tournament.
Following Senegal's 1-1 draw against DR Congo on Saturday in the second round of matches, the Everton player was asked if this was the toughest AFCON edition. Gueye responded: "So far, we have won one match and secured one point against Congo. We will see the result we achieve in the third match, and then history will tell us if this was the most difficult edition of the Africa Cup of Nations."
Regarding the organization, he added: "We must congratulate Morocco on this organization. The facilities are very good, and the pitch grass is excellent, which allows us to play beautiful football. Automatically, these things raise the level of the tournament. This is what we will expect from other countries that will organize the Africa Cup of Nations in the future."
It is worth noting that the Senegal national team will conclude their group stage matches next Tuesday, facing Benin at 20:00 (GMT+1) at the Grand Stade de Tanger.
