DR Congo Coach Desabre: "For Me, Senegal is the Best Team in Africa"

Sébastien Desabre, head coach of the Democratic Republic of Congo, lauded his players following their 1-1 draw against Senegal on Saturday in their Africa Cup of Nations Group 4, Matchday 2 fixture.

Desabre stated in the post-match press conference: “The match was balanced, and the draw is a fair result given the flow of play. The intensity we created in midfield proved effective. Winning second balls primarily depends on presence and clustering around the ball, and my players were strongly present.”

The French coach added: “We played against two very strong African teams, and such matches allow us to continue developing in terms of performance and enthusiasm. Today, we showed that the Democratic Republic of Congo is capable of competing with the best team in Africa, and for me, Senegal is the best team in Africa.”

He concluded by saying: “Now, we must focus on our match against Botswana and strive to occupy first place in the group.”
