Congolese Federation Denies $1 Million Bonus for National Team Players Before African Play-off
The Congolese Football Federation, in an official statement issued today, Wednesday, denied the accuracy of news circulating on social media and some media outlets, which claimed that each player of the Democratic Republic of Congo national team had received or would receive a $1 million bonus.
The Congolese Federation clarified that these reports are completely unfounded and lack any official basis, whether from the government or the federation itself.
The Congolese Federation urged the public and media to verify accuracy and avoid spreading false news, advising them to rely solely on statements and information issued by official sources, primarily the federation's official website and the Ministry of Sports and Leisure.
The Congolese national team is scheduled to face its Cameroonian counterpart tomorrow, Thursday, in the semi-finals of the African play-off. The match will take place at Stade de la Poste in Rabat, kicking off at 7 PM (GMT+1). The winner of this match will then play against the winner of the second semi-final between Nigeria and Gabon.
