Senegal FA Denies 'Crisis' Ahead of Sudan Clash in AFCON 2025 Round of 16

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has issued an official statement regarding the status of the "Teranga Lions" national team ahead of their anticipated match against Sudan this Saturday, in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025".

The statement read: "The Senegalese Football Federation notes, with great regret, the continued circulation of certain rumors and information published by a segment of the press, which seeks to create the impression of a state of conflict or hidden tensions between the federal body and the national coach."

It continued: "The Senegalese Football Federation strongly condemns these baseless allegations, whose sole objective appears to be to destabilize the positive dynamic of our national team in the midst of the competition."

The statement further clarified: "It is important to remind national and international public opinion of the following: beyond professional relations and strict administrative hierarchy, the President of the Senegalese Football Federation maintains extremely friendly and fraternal ties with the national coach and all members of the technical staff."

It added: "The Senegalese delegation works daily under the authority of the President of the Federation in complete harmony and mutual respect, with a shared vision aimed at placing the national team in the best conditions for performance and excellence."

The statement concluded: "All energies must be focused towards one goal, which is to accompany our Lions towards final victory and coronation on the evening of January 18, God willing."

This communiqué comes as part of the Federation's commitment to clarify facts and reassure public opinion, following the circulation of some news regarding the team's internal situation, affirming that the team continues its preparations to proceed in the competition under the best possible conditions.
