Gamondi, Tanzania Coach: "Our Goal is to Make History, Morocco Match Will Be Very Big with Lots of Pressure"

Miguel Gamondi, head coach of the Tanzanian national team, expressed immense pride in his country's historic qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 round of 16, following a 1-1 draw against Tunisia in the third and final group stage match.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Gamondi stated, "It's a historic qualification. I am proud of the players. My goal was for our national team to feel that they are not inferior to other teams. We have a good generation, and we are working on building a cohesive core team."

He added, "We gave everything we had, and we know very well what needs to be done to stop the bleeding in upcoming matches. The players gave their maximum to play a great game. I love their team spirit and their focus from the qualifiers until today."

Regarding the upcoming match against Morocco, he concluded, "We put in a great effort against Tunisia, and our goal is to make history. The match against Morocco will be very big, with a lot of pressure."
