Deschamps (France Coach): "Morocco, Egypt, and Cameroon are AFCON Title Contenders"
France national team coach Didier Deschamps identified the African teams he believes are contenders for the Africa Cup of Nations title, stating that Morocco is among the strong teams capable of winning, alongside Egypt and Cameroon.
Speaking to Al Sharq TV on the sidelines of the Global Sports Summit in Dubai, Deschamps said: "I follow the Africa Cup of Nations because we have a competitor in the World Cup group stage, which is Senegal. Although it's the year-end holiday period, when you are passionate about football, which is also my job, I follow it, perhaps not all matches completely, but a good number of them."
Regarding his predictions for the title contenders, Deschamps stated: "Morocco, Egypt, and Cameroon. Everyone is a contender. I don't want anyone to feel jealous at the expense of another."
He concluded: "As is always the case, even in the World Cup, we always talk about the same teams, but surprises sometimes happen. The best African teams are competing, and they have outstanding players who play in the best clubs."
