Regragui: 'We Haven't Arrived Yet; We Still Need to Work'

National coach Walid Regragui affirmed that the Moroccan national team has now entered an important phase in the Africa Cup of Nations after qualifying for the round of 16, indicating that the tournament will truly begin from this point.

Speaking at the press conference following the match against Zambia, Regragui stated: "This AFCON is difficult, as it always has been. I believe the tournament will now truly begin. We will need the entire Moroccan people. We won't win the cup alone. From now on, every match is like a final, a final for all Moroccans."

He continued, emphasizing the importance of the fans: "We must feel that they are the 12th player. Like Tunisia in 2004, when your national team was led to win the cup in its own country (addressing one of the journalists at the conference). As players, we felt that in the final. Now there's no room for calculations; we must be united. We shouldn't be overly optimistic; we shouldn't think we've already arrived; we still need to work."

It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team defeated Zambia 3-0 and qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 as group leaders.
