Petković (Algeria Coach): "We Are Competing for the Africa Title and Must Focus on the Rest of the Tournament"
Bosnian coach Vladimir Petković, manager of the Algerian national team, affirmed that his team continues to compete strongly for the Africa Cup of Nations title, noting that each match in the tournament will be more difficult than the last.
Speaking at the press conference following the match against Burkina Faso, Petković stated: "The players delivered a strong performance despite the difficulties we faced against Burkina Faso. We managed to overcome them and created a good number of chances."
The "Greens" coach added: "We are competing for the African title, and now we must focus on the remainder of the tournament. It's true we haven't scored many goals, but the most important thing is that we secured qualification, and we are happy about that."
The Algerian national team qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 after a 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso, topping Group E with 6 points, ahead of Sudan and Burkina Faso, while Equatorial Guinea sits at the bottom with no points.
