
Algeria Qualifies for AFCON Round of 16 After Hard-Fought 1-0 Victory Over Burkina Faso
The Algerian national team has qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 after securing a 1-0 victory over their Burkinabe counterparts. The match took place this Sunday evening at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, as part of the second round of the group stage.
Captain Riyad Mahrez scored the lone goal for the Algerian squad in the 22nd minute from a penalty kick.
With this win, the Algerian national team now tops Group E with six points, followed by their Burkinabe counterparts with three points.
