Nigeria Kicks Off AFCON Campaign with 2-1 Win Over Tanzania

Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory over Tanzania in their opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage. The game took place on Tuesday evening at the Fez Stadium.
The Nigerian national team opened the scoring in the 36th minute through Semi Ajayi. Charles M'Mombwa then equalized for Tanzania in the 50th minute.
Just two minutes later, Ademola Lookman restored the lead for the "Super Eagles" with a second goal in the 52nd minute, securing the win for Nigeria.
With this victory, Nigeria temporarily tops Group C with three points, while Tanzania sits in last place with no points. The outcome of the match between Tunisia and Uganda, scheduled for today at 21:00 GMT+1, for the same round, is still pending.
