
Nigeria Eliminates Gabon 4-1 at Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium, Reaching African Play-off Final for World Cup Qualification
The Nigerian national team has qualified for the final of the African play-off, which serves as a qualifier for the global play-off, after defeating their Gabonese counterparts 4-1. The match took place on Thursday at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, as part of the semi-finals.
The first half saw no goals. Akor Adams then scored the opening goal for the Nigerian side in the 78th minute, only for Mario Lemina to net the equalizer for Gabon in the 89th minute.
The two teams went into extra time after the regular ninety minutes ended in a 1-1 draw. Nigeria then managed to score three additional goals in the 90+7th, 90+12th, and 90+20th minutes, courtesy of Chidera Ejuke and a brace from Victor Osimhen.
In the play-off final, Nigeria will face the winner of the match between Cameroon and DR Congo, which is scheduled to be played on Thursday at 20:00 GMT+1 at the Al Barid Stadium in Rabat.
