Algeria's Chaïbi: 'We're Going to Morocco to Win AFCON, Regardless of Venue'

Algerian international Farès Chaïbi affirmed that his national team will enter the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco with their sights set on winning the continental title, regardless of the tournament's location.

Chaïbi stated in press remarks: "We are Algeria, and in every Africa Cup we participate in, whether it's on our home soil or away, we always go for the win. The situation will be similar in the Morocco edition. We are going to achieve the title, and we have great enthusiasm to travel and start competing immediately."

He added: "Preparations are going well so far, and we continue to work as one group. We have a strong desire to perform better in Morocco. We will deliver a great match and achieve a positive result in the opening round, God willing."

He concluded: "The first match is always crucial, and we, as players, have discussed this. It's the game that gets you into the competition atmosphere and defines your path. In 2019, the Algerian national team was good from the start, so the match against Sudan will be very important. Our goal will be to show everyone that we are ready for this tournament."
