Spanish giants Real Madrid secured their place in the King's Cup round of 16 after a hard-fought 3-2 victory on Wednesday evening against third-division side Talavera.
Real Madrid finished the first half comfortably, heading into the break with a two-goal lead. Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 41st minute, followed by an own goal from Talavera defender Manuel Farando in the 45+1st minute.
However, Real Madrid faced a period of uncertainty in the second half when the home side pulled a goal back in the 80th minute through Nahuel Arroyo. Mbappé then scored his second and Real Madrid's third goal in the 88th minute, but Talavera found the net once more in the 90+1st minute with a goal from Gonzalo De Renzo against Andriy Lunin.
