Flick: "Alonso's Situation? If Our Win Puts Pressure on the Opponent, That's Their Problem"
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick stated his refusal to discuss the situation of his rivals when asked about Xabi Alonso, who has been the subject of recent rumors regarding his potential dismissal from Real Madrid due to a string of poor results.
Following Barcelona's 2-0 victory over Osasuna on Saturday, Flick said: "I don't want to talk about our competitors. That's not my business. If our win puts pressure on the opponent, that's their problem. We have to maintain this level. We have recovered, we are playing well, all the players are back, and most of them are fully fit. The rest doesn't concern me."
Regarding his assessment of the team's performance today, Flick responded: "The most important thing is the three points. We controlled the game, and we were defensively solid. Perhaps we didn't create many chances, but we scored two goals. I'm not thinking about other teams. We want to go to Villarreal and win. The road is long, and we have to live in the moment."
Barcelona strengthened their lead at the top of the Spanish La Liga table with 43 points, extending their advantage to seven points over second-placed Real Madrid, who will visit Alaves tomorrow, Sunday (21:00 GMT+1).
