Deco: 'Messi's Return to Barcelona? I Don't Think It's Possible'
Anderson Souza, known as Deco, Barcelona's sporting director, was a guest on Cadena SER radio on Wednesday, where he addressed several questions, including the possibility of Lionel Messi returning to the club on loan from Inter Miami.
When asked about the possibility of Messi joining on loan, Deco said: "I don't think that's possible because Leo is under contract, and the idea has never been raised. Messi remains Messi, and he can still offer something to football."
He added: "He is a fantastic player. But this is not a topic for discussion. Everything being said right now is just speculation."
Deco showed no surprise at Messi's name being chanted every ten minutes inside Camp Nou since its opening, stating that "Leo's impact will last forever," and considering "Messi the greatest player in the club's history, alongside Johan Cruyff and Ronaldinho."
It is worth noting that Messi renewed his contract with American club Inter Miami until December 2028. The signing ceremony took place last October in the middle of the club's new stadium, which is still under construction.
