
Six Moroccan League Players to Feature in AFCON, Wydad Most Represented
Six players from Morocco's Botola Pro league are set to represent their respective national teams at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals. The tournament, hosted by Morocco, is scheduled to take place from December 21 to January 18, in an event highly anticipated by football enthusiasts across the continent.
Wydad AC leads the Botola Pro clubs in terms of representation, with two players participating. Stéphane Aziz Ki will feature for Burkina Faso, while Tumisang Orebonye will represent Botswana.
Other Botola Pro players confirmed for the tournament include Mounir El Kajoui, the Renaissance Berkane goalkeeper, who will play for Morocco. Kabo Sikaneng of Maghreb de Fès will join the Botswana squad, while Carneiro from AS FAR will represent Angola. Additionally, Mehdi Lahrar, Raja CA's goalkeeper, will also feature for the Atlas Lions. This strong presence ensures the Botola Pro league is well-represented among Africa's top players at AFCON.
