Regragui: "Bensghir Was Injured; We Agreed with Leverkusen on Reduced Playing Time for AFCON Readiness"

Moroccan national team coach Walid Regragui revealed that he reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen regarding Elias Bensghir. The agreement involves reducing the player's playing time and following a tailored training program to ensure his readiness for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Regragui stated in a television interview: "For three months, Bensghir had been suffering from groin pain. Thankfully, we agreed with Leverkusen to reduce his playing time and follow a tailored program so he would be ready for the Africa Cup of Nations."

He added: "We did the same thing with Nayef at Marseille. Thankfully, we have good relationships with the clubs, and the same applies to Mazraoui as well."
