German side Bayer Leverkusen secured a valuable 2-0 victory over hosts Manchester City on Tuesday evening in a UEFA Champions League Group Stage match.
Leverkusen delivered a strong performance at the Etihad Stadium, managing to dictate the tempo against City. Spanish defender Alex Grimaldo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a precise shot that gave goalkeeper James Trafford no chance to intervene.
At the start of the second half, striker Patrik Schick extended the lead with a second goal in the 54th minute, ultimately securing the victory for his team.
