Getafe Coach on Abqar's AFCON Exclusion: "It's Sad News, He Must Regain His Best Form to Go to the World Cup with His Country"
Getafe's Spanish coach, José Bordalás, commented on the exclusion of his player, Abdelkabir Abqar, from the Moroccan national team squad called up for the Africa Cup of Nations. He considered the 26-year-old's absence from the tournament as sad news for him.
Bordalás stated: "It's bad news for any player; they always want to represent their country, and this is sad for them. Now he has to work to regain full fitness and deliver a great season."
The coach added: "If he can't participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, he still has the opportunity to play in the World Cup. I'm sure he has thought about it, and therefore he must focus on his performance with Getafe."
He concluded: "He must now focus on the team and regain his best form to be able to go to the World Cup with his national team."
