Administrative Issue Delays Moroccan National Team's Arrival Before Comoros Clash

03 December 2025at05:50

The Moroccan national team's match against the Comoros national team, held yesterday, Tuesday, as part of the Qatar 2025 Arab Cup, experienced an unusual delay in the "Atlas Lions" delegation's arrival at the stadium. This was attributed to a sudden administrative issue involving two national team players.

Before the match kicked off, organizers discovered that defender Marouane Louadni of FAR Rabat and forward Tarik Tissoudali of UAE's Khorfakkan FC had entered Qatar using tourist visas instead of the "Hayya" permit, which is exclusively designated for players and technical staff. This oversight meant they were not on the approved technical rosters for the match day.

Upon learning of the situation, the organizing committee promptly committed to resolving the players' status and arranged for a special vehicle to transport them to the stadium once the necessary permits were secured. However, the Moroccan delegation refused to depart for the stadium without their teammates, insisting on the entire squad traveling together on the official bus, a standard practice in all major competitions.

This administrative issue ultimately led to the national team's delayed arrival at the stadium. Nevertheless, it did not disrupt the players' focus, as they delivered a strong performance and secured a significant 3-1 victory over Comoros.

The national team is now preparing to continue its campaign in the tournament, with the technical staff showing strong determination to maintain the squad's unity and discipline both on and off the pitch.
