Arab Cup: Morocco Begins Group Stage Campaign with 3-1 Victory Over Comoros
The Moroccan national team commenced their journey in the Arab Cup, hosted in Qatar, in "ideal" fashion, securing a 3-1 victory over Comoros in their opening match of the group stage.
Morocco wasted no time in asserting their dominance, taking an early lead in the fifth minute with a well-placed header that struck the left post before finding the back of the net.
The Moroccan pressure continued, leading to a second goal in the 11th minute when Tarik Tissoudali unleashed a powerful shot that rattled the net, further extending the national team's advantage.
Comoros gradually began to find their rhythm, exchanging passes and pushing into Moroccan territory, but without posing any significant threat to goalkeeper Salah Eddine Shahab. Morocco then responded with a third goal in the 45+5th minute, scored by Karim El Berkaoui.
The second half began with sustained pressure from Comoros, who managed to pull a goal back in the 56th minute through an own goal by Mohammed Boulkhsout, following a well-orchestrated attack.
Comoros continued their offensive push, met by some counter-attacks from the Moroccan side, but the scoreline remained unchanged. Morocco secured their first victory, topping the group with three points, as they await the outcome of the Oman vs. Saudi Arabia match (18:00 GMT+1).
