Olympique Marseille missed the opportunity to claim the top spot in Ligue 1 after drawing 2-2 against visitors Toulouse on Saturday evening. The match, part of the 14th round, took place at the Stade Vélodrome.
Toulouse finished the first half with a one-goal lead, courtesy of Brazilian Emerson da Silva's strike in the 14th minute.
In the second half, the home side managed to turn the game around, equalizing in the 66th minute through Igor Paixão. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg then put Marseille ahead in the 74th minute. However, the visitors managed to snatch a point from the match, scoring an equalizer in the 90+2nd minute with a header from Santiago Hidalgo, following a misjudged exit by goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli.
The match also marked the return of Nayef Aguerd to the starting lineup after missing the previous two games due to injury. His compatriot Bilal Nadir also featured, providing the assist for Marseille's first goal. Both players were substituted in the 76th minute.
Following this result, Paris Saint-Germain maintained their lead in Ligue 1 with 30 points, despite their 1-0 defeat against Monaco. Marseille now sits in second place with 29 points, while Toulouse occupies ninth position with 17 points.
