CAF Champions League: RS Berkane Stages Dramatic Late Comeback to Beat Rivers United 2-1

RS Berkane secured a 2-1 victory over Nigerian club Rivers United in their CAF Champions League group stage match on Friday, part of the second round of fixtures.

From the outset of the first half, RS Berkane sought to dictate play with several attacking forays. However, Rivers United's defense remained resolute, thwarting all attempts.

The deadlock was broken in the 37th minute when Mamadou Lamine Camara unfortunately scored an own goal, handing Rivers United the lead.

Following the half-time interval, RS Berkane intensified their offensive efforts in pursuit of an equalizer. Their persistence paid off in dramatic fashion, with Younes El Kaabi finding the net in the 90+7th minute. Mounir Chouiar then sealed the comeback, scoring the winning goal in the 90+9th minute.

With this win, RS Berkane now leads Group A with 6 points. Pyramids FC occupies second place with 3 points, while Rivers United sits third with zero points. Power Dynamos are at the bottom of the group, also without any points.
