Chaabani: 'We Achieved Victory, Our Goal is to Go as Far as Possible in CAF Champions League'

Mouine Chaabani, Renaissance Berkane's coach, confirmed that his team delivered a respectable performance against Zambian side Power Dynamos, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory in their opening match of the CAF Champions League group stage. He noted that this win is a crucial first step before facing Nigeria's Rivers United.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Chaabani stated: "We have taken the first step, and thankfully we achieved victory with the players delivering a respectable performance. Now we will focus on the second match, and God willing, we will be ready to achieve a positive result."

He added: "Murabit is experiencing some knee issues; after 15 minutes of play, he started feeling discomfort, but it's not a serious injury. The same applies to Mehri; his injury is also not worrying, and we will consult the medical staff."

Chaabani concluded: "We will travel to Nigeria to face Rivers United with the aim of returning with a positive result, and we hope that will be an away victory. We know it won't be an easy match, and our goal is to reach the furthest possible point in the CAF Champions League."

Renaissance Berkane will visit Nigeria's Rivers United for the second-round fixture on Friday, November 28, with kick-off scheduled for 5:00 PM (GMT+1).
