CAF Champions League: RS Berkane Kicks Off Group Stage with 3-0 Win Over Zambia's Power Dynamos
RS Berkane defeated Zambia's Power Dynamos 3-0 in their CAF Champions League group stage opener on Saturday at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane.
The "Orange Team" took an early lead in the 13th minute when Power Dynamos defender Aaron Katebe scored an unfortunate own goal.
Just three minutes later, Munir Chouiar doubled Berkane's lead in the 16th minute. Coach Moein Chaabani's side continued their relentless pressure and came close to a third goal when Paul Valère found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, only for his shot to strike the post in the 17th minute.
After halftime, RS Berkane further extended their lead, with Paul Valère successfully converting a penalty kick in the 65th minute to make it 3-0.
RS Berkane will next travel to Nigeria to face Rivers United on Friday, November 28, with the match scheduled to kick off at 5:00 PM (GMT+1).
