Iraqi FA Requests FIFA Approval for Black Kit Against Senegal to Coincide with Hussein's Commemoration
The Iraqi Football Association (IFA) has submitted a request to FIFA, the international football governing body, seeking permission for the Iraqi national team to wear black kits in their match against Senegal during the FIFA World Cup finals, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
According to Iraqi channel "Al-Janoub," the Iraqi FA specifically requested the adoption of black attire for the senior national team players during their encounter with Senegal.
This request coincides with the eve of the commemoration of the passing of Imam Hussein bin Ali, which falls on the tenth of Muharram. This date also happens to be the day of the World Cup match in Toronto, Canada.
It is worth noting that the Iraqi national team is scheduled to face Senegal on June 26, as part of Group 9, which also includes Norway and France.
