Ancelotti: "I Don't Want to Focus on the Starting XI Against Morocco... All Players Are Starters for Me"
Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti has given clear indications of his reliance on a rotation policy and not settling on a fixed lineup during the World Cup finals, emphasizing that all 26 players in his squad are considered "starters" within the group.
Ancelotti's statements came today, Friday, ahead of tomorrow's friendly match against Egypt (scheduled for Saturday at 23:00 GMT+1). He stressed that he is not currently focusing on the starting lineup for the opening World Cup match against Morocco, but rather aims to test all squad members.
The Italian coach stated: "I believe I am convinced that I have a very strong squad, and I want to utilize it fully. I don't want to focus on the starting lineup for the first match in the World Cup. I want to train this group and benefit from it, as it includes many solutions."
He added, in response to a question about how many players would participate in tomorrow's friendly from among those expected to feature in the World Cup: "I cannot say how many players will start tomorrow… For me, they are all starters. I have the responsibility to choose the best for the first match, but the team might change in the second or third match. I have an idea, but I don't know who will finish the first match."
It is worth noting that the Brazilian national team is in Group C, alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti. They are set to open their campaign against "the Atlas Lions" on June 13 (23:00 GMT+1).
