Ouahedi Misses Morocco Squad Trip to USA Due to Visa Issues
Al-Botola has learned from a special source that Zakaria El Ouahdi did not travel with the Moroccan national team delegation to the United States due to his inability to secure a visa.
The source clarified that El Ouahdi's visa application was rejected twice, preventing him from joining the Moroccan delegation. This has delayed his link-up with the 'Atlas Lions' as efforts are underway to find a solution for him to join the national team.
The 'Atlas Lions' delegation departed today from Rabat-Salé Airport for the United States, with the team focused and ambitious to achieve a strong performance in the 2026 World Cup finals.
The team's departure follows the conclusion of their final preparatory camp phase, where the technical staff, led by Mohamed Wahbi, focused on physical and tactical aspects. During this camp, the 'Atlas Lions' secured a dominant 4-0 friendly victory over Madagascar.
The Moroccan national team is scheduled to play another friendly match against Norway next Sunday in the United States. This fixture, ahead of the World Cup, will offer the technical staff a final opportunity to fine-tune the squad and test various tactical options.
Morocco will kick off their World Cup campaign against Brazil on June 13, followed by matches against Scotland on June 19, and Haiti on June 24, all within the tournament's group stage.
