Ancelotti: "I Want to Leave Some Mystery Until the World Cup, Otherwise We'll Have Nothing Left to Talk About Because the Neymar Topic is Over"
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Lucas Paquetá's position remains a subject of discussion within the national team, adding that he prefers to keep some mystery surrounding his players' roles until the World Cup begins.
Ancelotti clarified in a media statement that if he decides to deploy Paquetá on the left flank, it would not be to utilize him as a pure winger. Instead, the intention would be to capitalize on his defensive contributions and his ability to track the opposing full-back when they advance.
The Italian coach added that he deliberately refrains from disclosing all the details of his tactical plans before the World Cup. He stated: "But until the World Cup, I want to leave some mystery, otherwise we will have no topic to talk about. It's a help to all of you, because the Neymar topic is over. So what will we do now?"
Ancelotti emphasized that Paquetá must play in his natural position on the field, asserting that he will not be deployed as a winger. Instead, he will operate closer to a forward or playmaker role, positions that Vinicius Junior and Raphinha also occupied at various points during the match.
