Casemiro: "We Know the Road is Difficult, But Our Dream is One: To Win the World Cup, and We Will Fight for It"
Brazilian international Casemiro spoke about the atmosphere surrounding his national team's preparations for the upcoming World Cup, affirming that participating in the tournament for the third time represents an exceptional moment in his career and a dream come true since childhood.
“First, the feeling of being in the national team squad and participating in the World Cup with Brazil is undoubtedly great happiness and a childhood dream, indescribable,” Casemiro said at a press conference held on Thursday. “Our mere presence here as players reflects this happiness; it's a moment of a dream come true, and our goal remains clear: to win the title.”
He added: “We know it's very difficult and requires a lot of work and dedication, but in the end, it's the realization of a great dream.”
Casemiro also touched on his role within the national team, stating: “One of the most important things for me is for the young players, especially those participating for the first time, to enjoy this unique experience. The World Cup is an opportunity to write history, and it must be lived in all its details.”
He also stressed the importance of focusing on details, saying: “In the World Cup, everything is decided by details. In the last edition, we were eliminated by just one shot against Croatia, so we must pay close attention to every detail within the match.”
Regarding Neymar, Casemiro commented: “Neymar is a very important player for us. He is going through a recovery phase, and we hope he will be ready. His experience in four World Cup editions is very important, and he can add a lot to the group on and off the field.”
On the balance of experience and youth within the squad, he explained: “Having a mix of young and experienced players is very important for winning titles.”
He concluded his remarks by emphasizing the team's great ambition: “We know the road is difficult, but we have one dream, which is to win the World Cup, and we will fight for it until the end.”
