Arbeloa Laments Carvajal's World Cup Squad Omission

Álvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid coach, has expressed his disappointment over the omission of his player Dani Carvajal from the preliminary squad for the Spanish national team, set to participate in the 2026 World Cup finals.

Speaking about his communication with Carvajal following the decision, Arbeloa stated: "No, I haven't spoken with him. But considering what he has achieved throughout his career, it is unfortunate that he was not called up to represent the Spanish national team."

He added: "Nevertheless, the choices of any other coach must be respected. I only hope that he will be available to us, get playing time, and make the most of it."

The 2026 World Cup finals are scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The tournament will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marking a historic edition with 48 teams participating for the first time.
