Marca: Carvajal Nearing Real Madrid Exit as Contract Renewal Unlikely
Spanish newspaper “Marca” has revealed that Dani Carvajal is experiencing one of the toughest periods of his football career, marked by a significant decline in physical fitness and a series of injuries that have kept him out of contention for Real Madrid.
Reports indicate the 34-year-old recently sustained a toe injury, which will force him to miss most of the remaining matches this season. This injury will also significantly reduce his chances of a quick return to the pitch or inclusion in the Spanish national team.
According to the same source, Carvajal's contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30. The club has decided not to offer a contract renewal, given his diminished role within the team and limited appearances recently.
This decision comes after a long career spanning 13 seasons with the Royal White club, during which the player achieved numerous titles, before a series of recurring injuries affected his consistency.
The newspaper also noted that Carvajal returned this season after a long absence due to a serious injury but failed to regain his usual form. He suffered new setbacks, including muscle injuries and knee problems, which reduced his opportunities for regular participation.
The player has only accumulated a limited number of minutes this season, not exceeding 442, with frequent absences and not being a primary choice for the coaching staff.
These facts suggest a potential end to the career of one of Real Madrid's most prominent players in recent years, with expectations that the current season will be his last within the walls of the Santiago Bernabéu.
