Boufal: 'Natural to Be Discussed for World Cup, I'd Be Happiest to Participate'
Moroccan international Sofiane Boufal, who plays for French club Le Havre, expressed his desire to participate in the World Cup with the Moroccan national team. He noted that he is currently enjoying a good period both physically and technically, which places him among the names being considered for a return to represent the "Atlas Lions".
In an interview with "Foot Mercato," Boufal stated: "Like any professional footballer, we all aspire to participate in the biggest international competitions. Today, I play in a competitive and major league, and I am fortunate to play continuously without physical problems, with my level gradually improving. Therefore, this remains a goal for me."
The Moroccan player added: "Especially with my history with the Moroccan national team, the competitions I've played in, and the experience I've gained, it's natural that I am discussed regarding the World Cup."
However, Boufal clarified that his current focus remains on his club, asserting: "Honestly, as I said in a previous statement, I don't wake up every morning thinking only about that. My primary goal right now is to ensure my team's survival."
The Moroccan player concluded his statements by emphasizing his full support for the national team, whether he is included in the final squad or not. He said: "If the opportunity to participate in the World Cup comes, I will be the happiest person, and if I am not called up, I will support the team from behind so they can go far, God willing."
