Wydad Members to Ait Mena: "Leave Immediately or We Will Enforce It Through Club Regulations"
Members of Wydad Athletic Club have expressed their dissatisfaction with what they described as a "breach of promises," sending a direct message to club president Hicham Ait Mena. They asserted that "evading the clear public demand for immediate departure is open to no interpretation."
In their statement, the members added: "Breaching promises is not the trait of honorable men, and this is precisely what you did yesterday by evading the clear public demand, which accepts no interpretation: leave immediately, or the club's members will ensure it happens through the club's institutions and regulating laws."
The statement continued: "You have affirmed on multiple occasions that you are not clinging to the position and that you came to serve Wydad and its fans. Today, after your failure in managing this period has been confirmed, and after the fans' voices have united in demanding your immediate resignation, you have no choice but to assume your responsibility and withdraw without further maneuvers or bidding."
In a related context, the members called on anyone who believes they have the capacity to lead the club to put forward their candidacy. They affirmed: "We invite anyone who sees themselves capable of leading the club in a way that satisfies its fans and preserves its standing, to clearly and responsibly announce their candidacy, and to present a realistic program and a clearly defined project."
The statement added that "Wydad today needs a serious project and individuals capable of taking responsibility, not vague slogans or new promises." They stressed that the current phase "demands clarity and courage, and necessitates revealing visions and programs to the fans."
Wydad members concluded their statement by affirming: "Wydad is bigger than individuals and all narrow calculations. Whoever wishes to serve it should come forward clearly, and whoever is unable should make way for others. History will remain a witness, and accountability alone is capable of distinguishing the loyal from the negligent."
