
Kuwait Revokes Citizenship of Former National Team Goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Khaldi
Kuwaiti authorities have issued several decrees revoking the citizenship of 1,266 individuals, including former Kuwait national team and Qadsia Club goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Khaldi, in addition to others who acquired citizenship through dependency.
According to what was published in the official Kuwaiti gazette, the six decrees covered the revocation of citizenship from 1,266 individuals. These decisions are described by authorities as related to cases involving obtaining citizenship illegally, dual citizenship, or issues affecting national security and public order.
Nawaf Al-Khaldi is considered one of the most prominent goalkeepers in the history of Kuwaiti football. Born in 1981, he was nicknamed "The Brave" and was associated throughout his career with Qadsia Club, where he played from 2001 until his retirement in 2017.
Al-Khaldi also represented the Kuwait national team in over 100 international matches. He participated in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, playing three matches on the path to qualifying for the South Africa World Cup.
