Former Kuwaiti Player Fahad Al-Majmad Dies on Military Duty Amid Gulf Tensions

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced the death of former footballer Fahad Al-Majmad, aged 33, while performing his duty as an officer in the General Department of Land Border Security in Kuwait. His death comes amidst military tensions in the Gulf region, following attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, which led to an escalation of regional conflict and increased security measures along Kuwait's borders in light of current events.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior mourned Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Emad Al-Sharrah and Major Fahad Abdulaziz Al-Majmad, describing them as "martyrs of duty." The ministry noted that both were members of the General Department of Land Border Security and were martyred at dawn today while performing their national duty as part of the security tasks assigned to the ministry.

The ministry expressed its profound sorrow and grief over this loss, affirming in its statement that security personnel continue to perform their duty with courage and dedication to protect the nation and preserve its security and stability.

Al-Majmad began his football career with Al-Qadsia Club before later moving to Kazma, and then to Al-Salmiya, where he rose to prominence starting in 2019. He became one of the team's key players and wore the captain's armband for several seasons.

Al-Majmad concluded his football career just a few months ago, announcing his retirement during a match between Al-Salmiya and Al-Arabi. He then dedicated himself to his military career as a major, before passing away while on duty.
